Sacramento – Sacramento police announced Monday that they have arrested a suspect in connection with a mass shooting in downtown Sacramento on Monday.Six people were killed and 12 injured in the shooting.The Sacramento Police Department confirmed that officers have arrested Dandrae Martin, 26, as a “person of interest.”Police also executed search warrants, searched three homes in the area and seized at least one handgun.He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a firearm, and was being held in the Sacramento County jail, police said.Police Chief Kathy Lester said authorities confirmed there were ‘multiple’ shooters in the early morning shooting.The shooting happened late Saturday night and early Sunday morning as crowded bars and clubs near the city center were closing.Police put the death toll at six and said all six victims died at the scene.Twelve other people, all 12 of the survivors were shot, ranging from minor to serious but in stable condition police also found at the scene, three buildings and three vehicles were hit by gunfire, and collected more than 100 shell casings at the scene.The police launched a website to collect photos and videos of the crime scene on March 3 and have collected more than 100 documents sent by people.The police department said many details about the shooting remained unknown, including whether the gunman fired at random or targeted individuals or groups of people;How many gunmen opened fire at the scene;And what types of guns might have been used.Police have not released any description of the suspect.The Sacramento County coroner identified the three dead women as Johntaya Alexander, 21, Melinda Davis, 57, and Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21.The three male victims were identified as Sergio Harris, 38, Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32, and Devazia Turner, 29.
